MY POSSIBILITIES, SOAP HOPE NAMED D CEO 2020 SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WINNER
Plano organization claims prestigious recognition at ‘Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards’
PLANO, TX – SEPT. 3, 2020 – My Possibilities (MP) and MPact, PBC affiliate business Soap Hope are the winning finalist in the Social Enterprise category for the 2020 D CEO Magazine Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards.
My Possibilities provides continuing education and vocational training for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Soap Hope, an online retailer, offers thousands of natural home and body care products for home delivery, serving customers throughout the U.S. MP and Soap Hope announced their partnership earlier this year. The newly merged Soap Hope serves as curriculum and job training for MP clients or HIPsters, Hugely Important People. Soap Hope also employs individuals with disabilities in various roles, warehouse stocking, shipping and assembly.
Soap Hope is the first of many social enterprises under MPact, a Texas Public Benefit Corporation. MPact demonstrates the value of inclusive employment of people both with and without disabilities. MPact launched in 2019 to serve as the bridge between educational programming and workforce development. Soap Hope believes the disabilities community deserves the same right to equality in employment opportunities as any other group.
D CEO Magazine virtually hosted the third annual Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards Tuesday, Aug. 25. More than 500 nominations were received for various categories for the 2020 event. Out of the 500+ nominations, 80 finalists were named in June.
“What an honor to receive this recognition from Dallas-Fort Worth,” said Kate Knight, Director of MPact at My Possibilities. “It wasn’t that long-ago MP announced plans for MPact, and the Soap Hope partnership soon followed. It’s incredible to see the amount of support Soap Hope, MPact and My Possibilities have in the North Texas community.”
